Session #1 in the 2021 FIRST California Workshop Series: PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT + DESIGN THINKING.

DESCRIPTION OF SESSION #1:

Strategy & Navigation:

This workshop session is brought to you by FIRST California in partnership with Qualcomm and Stanford d.school.

During this interactive workshop, combining instruction and hands-on breakout sessions, you’ll evaluate the new FIRST Innovation Challenge criteria and then dive into the process of identifying opportunities to innovate.

The workshop series will kick off with opening remarks from Aine Shivnan, inventor and Vice President of Program Management at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. Next, you will explore Design Thinking and dive into Empathy and Define modes, presented by Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford (aka d.school). Then, you will learn about key elements of a Problem Statement and get an introduction to Intellectual Property.

During these 2 hours, there will be time for general Q&A and discussions in small breakout groups.
