FIRST TECH CHALLENGE
Designed for middle- and high-school age students who want to compete head to head using a sports model. Teams design, build, and program their robots to compete on a 12 X 12’ field in an Alliance format against and with other teams.
Robots are built using a TETRIX® or MATRIX® kit of parts that is reusable from year-to-year, usingusing a variety of levels of Java-based programming. Teams, including Coaches and Mentors develop strategy and build robots based on sound engineering principles.
2021-2022 CHALLENGE
FREIGHT FRENZY
This year’s game is part of the 2021-2022 FIRST season, FIRST FORWARD presented by Qualcomm.
In the 2021-2022 season, FIRST FORWARD presented by Qualcomm, FIRST teams will explore the future of transportation. From the shipment of packages in rural and urban areas, to disaster relief delivery and high-tech air transit, teams will re-imagine faster, more reliable, inclusive, and sustainable transportation innovations that better connect and grow communities and economies around the world.
In FREIGHT FRENZY presented by Raytheon Technologies, teams and their robots must navigate a complex transportation system by traversing barriers and racing against time to load and deliver essential items to those who need them most.
