About

Capturing young children’s curiosity and directing it towards discovering the wonders of science and technology.

FIRST LEGO League Jr. is a noncompetitive, hands-on STEM program for children ages 6 to 10 that builds interest in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Teams of up to six students explore a new and exciting Challenge based on a real-world theme each year.  

FIRST LEGO LEAGUE JR.

 

Through exploratory research, hands-on construction, teamwork, imagination, and fun with LEGO elements, FIRST® LEGO® League Jr. challenges teams of up to six kids to explore a real-world scientific concept, then build a motorized model and develop a Show Me Poster to illustrate their journey of discovery. Throughout the season, adult coaches provide guidance and inspiration.

BOOMTOWN BUILD

This year’s game is part of the 2020 FIRST season, FIRST RISE, powered by Star Wars: Force for Change.

In BOOMTOWN BUILD, teams will explore the growing needs and challenges of the people in our community. Teams will help to imagine and create a building that solves a problem and makes life easier, happier, or more connected for the people that use it. Students will use their  imagination and LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0 to design and program their Boomtown Build. They’ll keep track of what they are learn in their Engineering Notebook, and tell about it in a Show Me poster.
