This is your ticket to not only learn and grow but to be a beacon of change. With 4 hands-on workshops, inspiring speakers, and a community of like-minded peers, join us on an adventure that goes beyond robots.
HOW IT WORKS
- Apply and be accepted into the program. Applications open 9/27/24
- Participate via Zoom in all 4 interactive 90 minute online workshops plus 1 orientation session.
- Submit a plan for how you will implement your learnings in real-life scenarios – in your life, within your team or out in your community.
- Voilà! Become a FIRST for ALL Fellow, earn your pin and wear it with pride.
Last season, our inaugural FIRST For All cohort brought together a diverse group of passionate FIRST participants, eager to learn and make a difference.
Our 38 graduates were honored at their Regional events, each receiving a special FIRST For All pin in recognition of their commitment to fostering inclusivity.

RULES & REQUIREMENTS
- Applicants of all gender identities and expressions are encouraged to apply
- You must attend the orientation and all 4 workshops to be eligible to earn the title of FIRST for All Fellow and to receive your pin.
- This fellowship is designed to be interactive and the workshops will encourage active student participation.
- A completion of a final plan is required and will be shared with your mentor.
- One applicant per team.

What is the FIRST For All Fellowship?
The FIRST for All Fellowship is an opportunity for FIRST Robotics Competition students in California to dive deep into Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in STEM and FIRST. It’s designed for those passionate about making STEM more inclusive and diverse, as well as those curious about the topic.
Who can apply for this fellowship?
This program is specifically for FIRST Robotics Competition students in California who are in grades 9-11. We encourage applicants of ALL gender identities and expressions to apply. True progress in STEM inclusivity hinges on the allyship of all gender identities and expressions. We wholeheartedly invite everyone to join us, because together, our united front is the key to lasting change.
What will I gain from this fellowship?
Participants will:
- Learn about Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in STEM and FIRST.
- Acquire actionable tips and strategies to foster inclusivity.
- Collaborate with like-minded peers from across the state.
- Earn a pin symbolizing their commitment to change.
By joining, you can be the change you wish to see in your team and community. It’s also a chance to stand out to colleges and future employers by showing your commitment to both tech and people.
What are the requirements to earn the FIRST For All Fellow title?
To become a FIRST for All Fellow, you must:
- Be accepted into the program.
- Attend and participate in the orientation and all 4 interactive workshops.
- Submit a plan on how you will implement your learnings in real-life scenarios.
What is the workshop format?
The live interactive workshops are delivered on Zoom and will run approximately 90 minutes. After the lesson is delivered in the first 45 minutes, the participants will be sent into small breakout groups for a 30 minute discussion and then the whole group will have a 15 minute Q&A together. We encourage active participation in the breakout sessions.
