Filmmaker

I am an award-winning visual storyteller, combining sight and sound to convey thought and evoke emotion. For nearly 30 years I’ve produced, written, directed, shot, edited, animated, composited, encoded, and published over a thousand videos for film, television, corporations and organizations large and small. I am expert at producing video communications that connect messages with audiences. Videos should connect with a viewer’s curiosity and humanity, and I strive to champion my characters and their stories. A video story that rings true with an audience is a powerful thing.

My journey began at UC Berkeley creating several student documentaries as part of my Mass Communications program. For many years I was the co-owner of a video production boutique in San Francisco serving corporate and broadcast clients, evolving my video editing, motion graphics and 3D animation skills. In the decade-plus since my arrival at PG&E as a video content producer I helped launch the PG&E brand journalism site  creating hundreds of videos since its inception in 2011 and have been involved in the creation of video storytelling for coworkers and customers alike.

When it comes to viral videos, I’ve had a funny commercial mocked on The Ellen Show (Slobbstopper), a promo for a futuristic desk workstation compared to a dentist’s chair (Altwork Station) and a utility news package watched millions of times on YouTube (electric transmission barehanding). My video art has been on display at countless festivals (including Burning Man) and large scale entertainment venues (such as SF Giants Oracle Stadium). Fortune 500 clients have included AT&T, Chevron, Cisco Systems, NetApp, Comcast, Xerox, and Amazon.

While my role as a filmmaker currently aligns with a large brand at PG&E, my heart beats for the intimate and extraordinary personal stories that have yet to find their spotlight. I am obsessed with the subtle intricacies of the filmmaking process throughout every phase of production and have cherished the transformative (and sometimes difficult) journey that is being a storyteller.

Having represented brands big and small, my storytelling philosophy is rooted in empathy and influenced by my curiosity. I believe that narratives resonate best when an audience is affected at a profoundly emotional level, and I take immense pride in fostering trust and capturing the raw, authentic essence of my subjects in an artful way. Fueled by stories of resilience, optimism, and personal triumph, I am relentless in my pursuit to showcase the messiness and beauty of the human experience. There are infinite stories to tell, and I cannot wait to explore the depths of my next one!
